Bill Bellemy & Enss Mitchell

Bill Bellemy & Enss Mitchell

The Comedy Union Comedy Club burst on to the Los Angeles comedy scene in March of 2001. The Owner/Operator of this club, Enss Mitchell, had a bold and innovative vision. His idea was to provide a place where urban stand-up comics could perform and develop every night of the week, not just on other local clubs ‘slow nights’. You could tell his idea caught fire, as the club became a haven for comics to hang out and perform, as well as by the lines of patrons waiting to get in this new hot spot.

Then, the television world came calling; and TV-One started filming auditions for their popular TV series, “WHO’S GOT JOKES” starring Bill Bellemy. Bet quickly followed with “COMIC VIEW” comedy showcases, then, HBO’S Def Comedy Jam and Comedy Central comedy showcases. All this culminating into TV-ONES hit Comedy series “THE FUNNY SPOT” hosted by Tony Rock, a show created by Enss Mitchell and Filmed on Location at The Comedy Union.
